Scottish View

This is a pastel. Is it a painting of a moor? I've never known quite what a moor is! Anyway, it's from a photo I took in Scotland and I love the sense of distance and wide open space. As always, critiques welcome, and the picture is better if you click on this one to see the larger version.

This is a beautiful painting! Definitely reminiscent of Scotland. I love the colours, too.

moor: n. (object) open land usually with peaty soil covered with heather and bracken and moss.

This is such a beautiful, peaceful painting. You can hear the quiet! I like that you didn't paint all the sheep flat-on from the side, that they are in different positions and orientations. Good perspective with the lighter mountains, but maybe just a bit darker grass at the foreground? I am not sure about that one, but I thought that when I first looked. I like this.
