What fun you are having in your workshop! I like the geometry in the first one you did and think the way it is presented is the "right way up", the eye seems to travel comfortably that way. The second painting is notable for its happiness. I like the cropped, portrait orientation the best since those yellow areas to the right of the focal area do draw the eye away from the happy area.
I have trouble assessing paintings that are abstract as they are so outside my personal little style zone, but sometimes I see a mixed media painting that really appeals to me from a design standpoint and these two do that. Nice work!
Jane James, PWS, has been painting since 1996, traveling to Nova Scotia, Tuscany and Scotland for painting adventures. She works mostly in watercolor and sometimes pastel or mixed media.

I really love this one too. Great work.
I really like this one, Jane! I prefer the crop, although I can't tell you exactly why. Who is giving the workshop?
