I did this one at the same workshop as the Scottish Burn. This one was done with warm colors over a cool purple underpainting. Also pastel. I'm not crazy about the purple sky, but it is the complement of yellow and it's warmer than blue.
I have to agree with you about the sky, but the rest of this is so aspen-y that I love it anyway! Must be the Fall weather (or as close as we get to that here on the desert) that draws me to those aspen every year. Very nice rendering on this, good composition but "painterly" too.
